Foal Training Explained: The First Two Years
Mare owners, if you'd like to get your colt or filly started out with a proper foundation, I would suggest the investment of $5.99 in my foal-training course.

An excerpt from "Your Foal: Essential Training for the Young Horse":
Ask the horse to meander around the pen for a bit. You want him moving a moment or two before you do anything because you want to instill the concept that movement is part of this work. You want to foster fluid movement, not a "stop-start-stop-start," sticky motion. When he's moving out nicely, apply light pressure to the lunge line and wait for the horse to stop. The moment he does, drop your line and praise him. Practice this a few times. If he tries to approach you, put him back in position.
